New Song Review August, 2007

This month has brought more new songs than I ever expected with huge stars trying to keep their stars bright and new ones looking to hit that level. However one song rose above them all, literally, and you'll have to read to find out.

YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO HOME= GRETCHEN WILSON - Well it seems that Gretchen has become a lost cause. This song, is mediocre, sticking to Gretchens bar patren personality that brought her to life as a country star. Ironically it seems that it is this same thing that is destroying her. She needs new material, a new producer, and possibly a new record label, but definatly something stronger than this to get herself back in business.

WHAT DO YA THINK ABOUT THAT= MONTGOMERY GENTRY - Yet another great song by the duo, and one I hoped would be a single. WHile I am disapointed with the video, the song is great, rebellious and in your face basically saying "I don't care what others think of me, I am who I am". A classic type of song for the duo that isn't overdone and isn't exagerated. I like it.

DEALIN'= CAROLINA RAIN - One of countries best new groups and they continue to prove how underrated they are. The trio tackles the subject of hard times in life and having to deal with them. Move on even if things seem hopeless. These guys know what their doing in the business, yet radio doesn't seem to see that. This is their best song to date, but also their most underestimted tune so far.

BETWEEN RAISING HELL AND AMAIZING GRACE= BIG AND RICH - The title track fo their new CD. Big and Rich switch it up with another soft song, but this time Big Kenny shows off his base tone as lead vocalist. The song speaks to the hardships of trying to stay dedicated to ones religious beliefs and morals while having fun. Basically a take one step forward, two steps back song. its hard to have a little fun while trying to stay loyal to God, but in the end its all worth it. One of Big and Rich's best songs yet on any album.

LOOKIN' FOR A ROAD (THEME TO DALE) = BRENT KEITH - How amaizing can it be to have your first single be from a mive dedicated to the best racer of all time, Dale. The movie features documentaries of the racer before his death in the Daytona 500 years back. CMT made the movie and is giving Brent his big break with an inspirational song about looking for your oun path, and love etc. and realizing it won't be easy, but you'll get there if you keep trying hard enough. I think he's got a future ahead of him for sure.

OUR SONG= TAYLOR SWIFT - the 17 year old country cutie has done it again. While I do critisize her for her for her lack of creativity in song choice, its a small issue. THis song shows again that she is a wonderful wirtter and singer. COntinuing her unique song variety on the subject of love, Taylor sings about how the singer and her lover don't need a song from the radio to express their love, their song is the song and magic of what goes on around and between them. I can predict that this song will become the song for many couples around the world.

LAUGHED UNTIL WE CRIED= JASON ALDEAN - The most valuable song Jason ahs ever released. This song shows his softer side by shifting from country-rock to moralistic harmonies. Jason sings about the goiod times in a 3 scene song, my favorite style of songwritting. First he targets graduation, then the final X-mas with a familt member and then having a baby when all hope was lost for that miracle. He takes the bad things and the end of things and puts an optimistic twist to it to advertise the poistive aspects of that moment, those moments that make you laugh until you cry because they are so joyous and happy, but also sad and tearjerking. This song lives up to its name bringing tears and laughter to its audience.

IT'S A GIRL THING= KRISTINA CORNELL - Her second song from Loften Creek Records. A talented singer/songwritter, however she has no luck on radio due to her label's rep. However this is a decent girl song. SHe deserves more attention than she gets, but she won't get it. However this is a decent song. Not a very powerful one, or very effective, but a decent song non the less.

REVOLUTION= RASCAL FLATTS - While Rascal Flatt's do a good job on the song, it is a Beatles remake for the movie Bruce Almighty and won't do much. The label hasn't pushed the song like they did Life Is A Highway, good thing too. It's a good song, but Rascal Flatts don't need that exposure with Take me THere doing so good. As usual they pull off a great remake and put their own treatment to the song, but as a single this song won't make much of an impact. No problem, as if they needed the attension anyways, their just fine without it.

HICK CHICK= COWBOY TROY - There are two versions of this song, one with John Rich and the other with Angela Hacker. Obviously this song will do as well as Angela is...horribly. However its a great party song as a tribute to the country girl. But lets face it, its rap and country radio won't support Troy for his music. Despite this I approve. Hick Chick's dance mix is a much better version, but the radio version is decent too. It continues to show John's talent as a writter and Troy's dedication to making his mark which may someday coime...but not right now.

JOYRIDE= JENNIFER HANSON - Can't remember if I covered this one already. Anyways Jennifer is attempting to break her rep as a one hit wonder. This may be the song to do it. It tookk a while, but she made her way to the charts in the 40's thus far. Maybe she will break out. Personally I believe the vocal performance could be a little stronger, but its easy, soft, and simple like the lives of the people in the song and the life she is inspiring in the lyrics. SO i guess it works out well. Never the less I look forward to seeing just how well this song does for her career.

TILL WE AIN'T STRANGERS ANYMORE= BON JOVI FEATURING LEANN RIMES - One of the groups most anticipated releases, a duet with a country artist. WHile this song seems to have made a larger impact on rock radio, it is starting to effect country airwaves. Bon Jovi are rock singers and will be classified as such by many, but this song is a country sounding tune...at least a little bit. I seriously hope they do well with this single because its a great love tune, however their ofrmer success with Make A Memory leaves no promises. WHo knows, maybe they'll have another #1 country song under their belt.

THERE IS A GOD= TRENT WILLMON - While I havn't really heard the song, I love the concept. As the name says it advertisies the unquestionable faith in God that Trent has. On a new, unknown label, Trent is attempting to become a platform artist and make it big as a premeir artist for the label. I wish him luck, however his former unsuccessful singles leave little to be depended on in his attempts at a comeback. We'll see just how well he does in his attempts. Good luck to him.

GOES DOWN EASY= VAN ZANT - A party song by countries southern rock duo. The brothers, former singers from Lynard Skynard and 38 Special, attempt to make their second album as a duo a gret one with a drinkin song saying if it goes down easy...well why not. I think this duo has a lot of promise as a big country duo...so I hope radio will help them reclaim their glory as a country duo that they earned with their first album.

I'M WITH THE BAND= LITTLE BIG TOWN - Oh I never get tired of these harmonies. all of them are always singing and on a song about something everyone in the business knows about, the difficulties of being in a band and on the road. You can hear in their voices just how much they know and relate to the song. The underdogs of the insutry, Little Big Town have made their mark and plan to keep things the way they are. A hit their a flop here. WHo knows what this song will be. But one thing is for certain, everone will seem to love it. This band is lucky, and as stated in the song, they know it.

HOW 'BOUT THEM COWGIRLS= GEORGE STRAIT - Seriously...does this guy have ANY bad songs. What the hell. Another great song an absolute hit from the king himself. THis song talks about seeing all the wonders of the world, but the most wonderful and amaizing thing are them cowgirls. THey are something ain't they. It really sounds like George is talking to the guys listening to this song. His experience and talent shines bright in one of my favorite songs by him ever. It even inspired me to break down and buy the album, and has even led me to enjoy Give It Away...amaizing what one song will do to it's audience.

EVERYBODY= KEITH URBAN - Not one #1 from his new album..but still great songs. Keith knows what he needs to put to radio. THe fourth single from L.P.A.T.W.C.T.and its a softy. Although the song seems about love, its not completely. It focuses on how everyone needs somebody to turn to sometime and to make them feel good and needed. You can here the sincerity and feeling in Keith's voice, as usual. Hopefully Keith will be able to break the boundaries and actually score another #1 this time around.

HOW LONG= EAGLES - The sound, the voices, the song...its all amaizing. The Eagles are back in business with an awsome song bringing to life thier traditional style, sound, and composition. How can you beet musics highest silling artists. The eagles not only have the highest selling album ever from a while back, but also one of countires biggest crossover songs. I'm sure the listeners will welcome them back with open arms, but for me this song seems almost like it came from knowhere. Whatever the case may be, their back and better than ever.

SO SMALL= CARRIE UNDERWOOD - Why will this song be a hit, well it sounds good, it's got a great meaning, and it's CARRIE UNDERWOOD. The highest debuting song by a female country artist is one of her best jobs yet. Her new CD is sure to be just as successful. The song birngs out her amaizing emotiuon and vocal abilities as it advertises that when one figures out how much love really matters, everything else seems so small. Love is the most valuable thing to anyone in the worlss at any time wether they relaize it or not. Future #1 music right here.

MORE THAN A MEMORY= GARTH BROOKS - He's back. The Brooks' is back with another great osng that shows more of his influences than any other song he has ever done. He sounds a little different from his glory days with a new twist on his vocal performance. One of his 4 new songs from his upcoming package on Big Machine records. The song is about how a lost love can be more than a memory in many, many ways. It can haunt you forever. We can only wait to see Garth show off again with his welcome back to radio.

DON'T BLINK= KENNY CHESNEY - My favorite song so far this year. Kenny chesney has produced the most successful song in its first week on country radio with record plays and the highest debut on the charts so far, beating Keith Urban's old record. This song is pure amaizing. When i first heard it I immediatly felt the lyrics. The song is like nothing IO have ever heard before tackling the old saying that times goes by in the blink of an eye sayings. And it does. The song does not advertise the secret of life, but instead inspires listeners to ignore their search for it and to try to enjoy the time we have instead. 100 years goes faster than anyone can ever imagine. SPend it wisely, make it matter, and take advantage of the one chance we all have to make it count. This song is by far one of Kenny's best songs and one of countire's best songs EVER!!!

New Single Review July 2007

As usual this month's review contains a ton of new songs by artists who are trying to keep their name as well as many new commers who are attempting to make their names in country radio. This month I also have two favorites that made it impossible for me to decided on just one. Understanding that usually my reviews are quite lengthy, I'll try not to go overboard.

SIMPLE LOVE= ALISON KRAUSS AND UNION STATION - Once again Alison produces excellent vocals and an excellent song that will probably and sadly be overlooked by radio audiences. unlike many songs about death that remind people of what they should do, Alison uses her beautiful talent to remind them of what they should realize they have. The song surrounds the singers view of a man who died with the simple love of family and giving without wanting anything back. The singer longs to be able to say she had a simple love like that when she dies. A peaceful and easy listen reminding us to cherish what we have and not what we get instead of what we long to have and can't recieve.

ONLINE= BRAD PAISLEY - Brad's latest controversial song that has left many believing him to be inappropriate and a bully. I disagree. The song is catchy, fun and hilarious like Brad's personality and takes a crack at the fact that many people these days are a whole nother person online. To a more serious extent the song also reveals how society today can leave the lower class who are looked down upon for who they are and how they live believing they need to pretend to be someone else to get a date or fit in. Brad tackles a subject no-one else in country music has even attempted at, bringing creativity, enjoyment of music, and his reputation as a great artist to a new level.

GOD'S FINGERPRINTS= BRAD COTTER - While I usually love songs like this I must say its cliche. Brad is the only Nashville Star winner to actually reclaim a record deal after a flop career. Sadly I don't think this song is even close to good enough to help him..if it is more power to him. Brad takes a shot at singing a song refering to God and how he has had a hand in everything in our world. I agree with many in believing this song will do better on the Christian and religious music radio than country radio only because it's cliche and he's a relatively unknowtest artist. A bigger artist probably coulda made this a hit, but after Jamie O'Neal flopped with God Don't Make Mistake, I think he'll need a much stronger attempt to make a comeback.

WHAT KINDA GONE= CHRIS CAGLE - Considering Chris's inability to produce a huge hit from his last album, I'm glad to see him still around. He returns to his signature sound of his early days to produce a unique and catchy song contain more versions of the word gone than I could have ever read in the dictionary. The man in the song, having been told his woman will be gone, question just what kinda gone she means from gone for the day to gone for the rest of her life and everything and anything in between. I'm glad to see Chris back on the top of his game and I hope this song brings him back to the top of the charts and into stardom where he should be.

NOWHERE THAN SOMEWHERE= FLYNNVILLE TRAIN - One of many groups trying to make their mark on the genre..and I don't think this is the song to do it. Fresh off of Toby Keith's record label, this southern rock sounds group produces an interesting vocal performance that sound mearly like they're trying to hard to be like Toby and be inclusive in his range of stardom. The song is decent with the man understandin his girl would reather be "nowhere" in her old hometown, than somewhere in the big populated city with him. However the performance in showoffy and borderline repoetative of Toby's who i think would've done a better job. Great band, wrong song and they try way to hard.

NINETEEN= WAYCROSS - This new duo tackles a song that brings up war...again. However I can't complain. Like many songs sense 9/11 this duo attempts to use the war in their debut project to rocket up the airwaves, but unlike many of those same songs they they refer to the nineteen year old's life before the war. He was a great football player and the boy next door who was ready to help for whatever reason. THe song amy be about a soldier but it is performed very casually, leaving the impression of the nineteen year old boy as not only ahero dying in the end to save another, but as a symbol for all others to realize that the young men of today can do a lot to help their fellow people, even if it isn't at war.

LAST TRAIN RUNNING= WHISKY FALLS - Another great new group, much more talented and experienced. Whisky Falls takes the classic view of a train leading you through the end and puts it to music in the most inspirational song of it's kind sense Long Black Train from Josh Turner. The man in the song hopes that when he dies he's done enough to avoid the devil and meet God in heaven. He realizes he can't look back so simply hopes he's lived a good enough life. It took me a few listens to war up to it and now Whisky Falls has earned my fandom and support. Flawless song and production.

BIKER CHICK= JO DEE MESSINA - I probably won't make many fiends saying..I hate it. While this song does signify Jo Dee's return and her classic style of rebel songs people know her for from years past, the song is random and out there. The singer gets together with her girls and reveals she loves biker boys...ok..so wheres the entertainment. While the song relates to a group of women not often refered to in the music, it just seems like a filler song or something. The only support I give it is that it helps Jo Dee recover from her slump. I do give the song and singer credit for relating to the biker girls, something that hasn't happened as long as I've listened to the genre.

TILL I WAS A DADDY TOO= TRACY LAWRENCE - Tracy has been a constant talent in country music for years and sadly it took 14 years for him to really make a comeback. Hopefully this song will keep him in the eyes and ears of country listeners. The song surrounds the singer who is a father and explains how he never realized what kind of fear and worry a father can go through until he had a son of his own. I hope this song gets the attention it deserves as a great balled from a father to his father and a symbol of affection from a father to his son.

HEAVEN, HEARTACHE, AND THE POWER OF LOVE= TRISHA YEARWOOD - Trisha bored me with her work from her last album...and now she's brought me back in. Not only has she sighned with powerhouse Big Machine Records, but she's also produced a classic sounding song with some of the best vocals and catchy music that I've ever heard from her. Obviously she brings up the optimism of heaven and the horrer of heartbreak and explains how the power of love keeps her going in between. Probably some of the best work I've ever heard from her because she sounds like herself, like she's singing about what she wants how she wants not for success but for fun.

WATCHING AIRPLANES= GARY ALLAN - Gary has his sound, and now he shows it off in his first single from his upcoming album. Gary strays from his depressing sound of his Tough All Over album to show what he can do. As I predicted seeing the name, the song is about him watching his woman leave on an airplane and thats all he can do to try to make her stay, hope that she isn't on one of them. Its a cassual feeling song and shows that Gary can still produce an awsome song without making it overdone or overdramatic.

READY, SET, DON'T GO= BILLY RAY CYRUS - Billy is trying so hard to get back into the country music audience. Sadly I don't think this will cut it. Not that its a bad song, its well written and very powerful. It's a tribute to his daughter, who is the star of Disney's Hannah Montana, and is written to match the perspective of anyone who doesn't want any kind of loved one to leave. The problem is you wouldn't realize that by hearing it. The production is blurred so that unless you knew the song already you'd have to look up the words or watch the video to know what he was saying in the song. Despite that its a terrific song by one of countries most talented male artists. I'm hoping he'll finally get his break back into country music either with this song or one to come.

SOMETHING ABOUT A WOMAN= JAKE OWEN - While Jake's first two singles were milestones in his success, this one will test just how secure he is. In the song Jake ponders what it is about a woman that makes them so effective on a man. It leaves it open open to an answer from the listener. Thus problem one of two. The song isn't direct and seems to open. Problem two is that their are much better songs on the album that would have helped keep his Yee Haw reputation. As good as the song is it is a huge risk due to its simplicity compared to jakes other attempts. It should be interesting to see how it unfolds on the charts.

TAKE ME THERE= RASCAL FLATTS - Song one of my two favorites this month. Rascal Flatts produce another excellent peice and to everyone's surprise it was written by none other than Kenny Chesney. In a unique romantic balled the singer asks the woman he loves to take him to a place no-one has ever been, her mind, and to trust him with her secrets, emotions and memories. Aside from physical contact this is thye ultimate trust. The country super group pulls off the song nicely, as usual, in another powerful and effective performance that leaves me wanting more of the song everytime I hear it. Catchy, moving and relative, Rascal Flatts definatly secures a place as one of my favorties this month.

FIRECRACKER= JOSH TURNER - ABout time Josh made it to my favorite song list. It was nearly impossible to decide between him and Rascal Flatts. This song is another romantic song by Josh and shows off his pure country sound and vocal abilities well. This fast paced, catchy tune has the singer refering to his love as a firecracker with many hilarious and creative metaphores to go along with it. One of the best written song Josh has ever had, this song reignites the enjoyment of the pure country twang sound which Josh continues to referbish in his works. I can't wait for the new album and I can't wait to see this song becomes Josh's third #1 hit.

    <lj:music>I Wanna Feel Something= Trace Adkins</lj:music>

Well with all the shit going on in my life lately I needed some time to get my barings back and figure things out. I feel a shit load better now so sry I havn't been writing in this thing a lot.

Anyways I got to see Tracy Lawrence in concert. I finally got to Indian Ranch and went to a concert. It was awsome. I had only known Tracy from songs like Find Out Who You're Friends Are, If I Don't Make It Back and Paint Me A Bermingham, but after the concert I was one of his most devoted fans. He put on an awsome show and got the croud extremely involved. I also got to meet Ayla Brown, a former American Idol contestant, who gave me some tips on how to better myself as a singer. So it was an enjoyable time.

Then it was off to Outdoor World campground. Of course the indoor pool and all that was fun as usual..but it got boring doing the same thing over and over again. I spent most of the time playing my acoustic guitar and got an idea....so i recruited my dad to take me to Gordan Music where I blew off $200 of the money I've earned this summer on a beginners electric guitar package. Basically I spent the rest of my free time playing it..it so frigain awsome. Other than that i got to hang out with Kristy, a friend of mine from the campground, and I got to spend some time with my Auntie Jackie...who isn't really my aunt she's just my mom's best friend.

Other than that I've just been doing a lot of soul searching, thinking and attempted songwritting to get my life back...and for the most part its worked..college is seemingly straitened out, my family is getting along again and my borther hates me...all is well for the time being.

~cowboy Bleau~

    <lj:music>Love Me If You Can= Toby Keith</lj:music>

well many new faces, old faces and faces that havn't been around much lately are showing there new work this month. it was an extremely tough decision to decide my favortie, but I did. Here's this month's list:

GUITAR SLINGER= CROSSIN DIXON - The latest group from Broken Bow Records, the same people who brought Jason Aldean and Craig Morgan to light. These guys bring a familier rock feel into their music that seems to define a lot of music from the label. I'm not sure how these guys will do though, the single isn't as strong as it probably could be. It draws attention to the classic country theme of pride as a musician and big dreams. It is a catchy song and a great dance tune, however I don't think it will bring the group into the same light as Broken Bows more popular artists of today.

NOTHIN' BETTER TO DO= LEANN RIMES - I've always been a big LeAnn Rimes fan and I'm lovin' this new sound to her voice. SHe shifts from her pop-country diva image that made her a multi genre sensation years back. In my opinion this song is much stronger than her other upbeat songs from This Woman. Her voice projects a rebellious yet sweet feel that perfectly fits the song. The song itself is in the perspective of a rebel girl who, in her small town life, can't find anything better to do than be a risky juvinile delinquent from stealing beer, to robbing a church to using her looks to get men to fight over her. When you listen to LeAnn's voice in the song you can actually here that same girl coming out and showing that despite the fact that her actions are inappropriate and risky she is enjoying them and has little worry of getting caught. I think its one of LeAnn's best and if this song shows where her career is going I'm following closely behind.

COUNTRY GIRL= RISSI PALMER - It's nice to see an African American female country artist join the ranks. And she's got the power in her voice of a true country girl. Despite radios rejection of the song due to its "on the edge" style its a very decent and catchy song, although it is meant mainly for women of course. The song encourages country pride among women despite where they live and explains that you don't need to live in the south or the country to be included in the croud of country girls. You don't need to be a farmer or horse-lover or even a cowgirl to enjoy it and woemn, and all people for that matter, shouldn't think that. A wise song and message for Rissi to release to the public, sadly it probably won't make an impact.

DAYS OF THUNDER= MARK WILLS - Mark has failed two times already to get back into the scene, one with Hank and rockin country song, and then Take it All Out On Me a romantic song. He tries again to reclaime his spot among the greats with a song about the past with a sound remanicent of 19 Somethin', a soung that fits him a lot better. This song remanices of the fun of the old days. It is meant to make the listener remaniss on their younger days of high school and college. Everytime I hear it I have to sing along because it's so damn catchy. I hope the rest of the radio listeners feel the same way.

NEVER WANTED NOTHIN' MORE= KENNY CHESNEY - Kenny continues to produce meanignful music without overdoing the concept of the song. This time he targets the significance of the simple things in life. It's good to hear something from kenny that isn't party or tropical based for a change. It brings back the powerful vocals of I Go Back, and like the song it also does not overdue to concept by showing off one particular moment or being to mushy. Kenny's songs just keep getting better to the point where I expect every one of his singles to be great, this is no exception.

PROUD OF THE HOUSE WE BUILT= BROOKS AND DUNN - I'm so happy to hear new music from B+D that sounds like the songs I love them for. Brooks and Dunn rekindle their traditional sound from their other famous fast paced anthems to produce another great optimistic song. The song remanises on the struggles the couple in the lyrics went through and the man is telling the woman thet he's proud of the work that they did to overcome those struggles and produce a home for themselves and a lovable life. The love they share that led them to the life they have is the one thing that will always last. No one could have pulled it off better than the dinamic due. Glad to here them back to their old sound instead of their hard rockin Hillbilly Deluxe type of sound.

THE MORE I DRINK= BLAKE SHELTON - Blake makes a bold move shifting from the emotionally powerful first single off his Pure BS album to a barroom anthem that brings out his influences from past greats. This is probably one of the best drinking songs I've ever heard and Blake proves here that he deserves more recognition than many give him credit for. The song, in its hilarity, contains a drinker who says the more he drinks...the more he drinks. Blake continues to impress me with his vocals and song choise and he is a brave artist releasing a drinking anthem which in this day and age seem to have faded sense I Love This Bar was a hit. Hopefully Blake will bring back the old country music spirit and bring the drinkin song back into country music.

LOVE ME IF YOU CAN= TOBY KEITH - Now this is the Toby i love to hear. His emotional and personal side. Toby may have a great reputation for his support of the troops and his party down anthems, but he puts that all aside here to produce a song thet will hopefully strike a chord with its listeners. The song makes a strong support for the singer or listener's position in life on many issues big and small and how many of his positions seem to contradict. He even goes so far as to draw Jesus into the matter. Providing one of my favorite quotes, he states "hate me if you want to love me if you can" because everyone knows where he stands although they may not agree. I hope this song hits home for a lot of people. I know its a very personal song for me.

YOU STILL OWN ME= EMERSON DRIVE - Not as strong as Moments, but a decent song non the less. The breakout group took three American albums to produce a #1, however I don't think this will follow. the song talks about having gotten over a girl, however she still owns him in his mind. It has the signature sound of Emerson Drive, however it also provides a solid country sound mixed in as well for an awsome result. Its not Emerson Drive's best work, but its decent and I hope it will help them continue their attempts to secure themselves as a solid group in country music.

TANGLED UP= BILLY CURRINGTON - I like this sound with Billy's voice. It's a new twist from his other songs. Billy produces another romantic tune, a fast paced sexy beat along with it. I think it works. It has a more rock-country feel and lacks the twang, but hey it works. It only proves that Billy's vocal talents range in different areas and can do many things instead of just one sound. This song shows off Billy's talent, and produces a catchy, upbeat song that is greatly enjoyable. I hope this shows a bright future for Billy. He has two #1s under his belt and has had all his songs hit the top 10. I hope this one keeps him in the game.

BAD FOR ME= DANIELLE PECK - Danielle seems to have a nack for singles that women can compare to. This one is no exception. She continuously addresses things that she loves, but are bad for her.....including her man. Its comical and a true country song in its own. Danielle seems to have difficulty making herself a valuable member of the country music community, but this song proves that she knows what she's doing by creating yet another woman anthem. She wonders why everything that feels so good is bad for her comparing chocolate and shoppings effects on her teeth and wallett to her bf's effect on her heart. I hope it keeps Danielle in the spotlight and helps launch her career back into full throttle.

THE STRONG ONE= CLINT BLACK - Clint releases the very first single he has recorded that he has not had a hand in writting. Maybe it will help bring his career back from hell. Having stars like Mark Wills and Little Big Town on his own label, Equity, Clint can afford a flop, but not several. I miss having Clint Black as a star. I wish he was a popular and loved and George Strait right now. He has a great voice, talent and taste in music. However this song may not do much to bring his career back..because someone beat him to the subject of the song. This song is much like Craig Morgan's Tough, but it isn't as deep and is more surrounding the housewife. Nevertheless, a great song and I hope it helps Clint make a comeback.

TATTOO ROSE= ANDY GRIGGS - I'm so thrilled to hear him back into the scene. Griggs hasn't had a hit sense If Heaven and I was afradi he had lost his career, but I guess not and I hope he has the chance to get it back. This song brings out the rock-country image that Andy has hid behind his unreleased songs. I think its a great unique sound for him and shows his personality better. He draws attention to his woman's tatoo rose and how it turns him on, etc. I think its an awsome song and I can't wait to hear more from Griggs. Hopefully he hasn't lost hope for his career to make a comeback because this song deserves a chance.

WAY BACK TEXAS= PAT GREEN - Although I am not a Pat Green fan, this song may grow on me. I've only heard it once and it sounds decent enough. A song about remanicing on a love of the past through a song or something that releases his memories. Recalling how they were going to marry and live life happily with children and such. Its pretty decent actually. Pat is a Texas mand and I first thought this song would be a Texas pride song..boring and old. However, it has actually impressed me. I'm kinda excited to see how it'll do.

AS IF= SARA EVANS - Oh my God this is the coolest song I've ever heard from Sara...EVER!!!! The song draws attention to the question of what issues will come around between the singer and her man, however the singer is actin as if nothing will ever go wrong. Take things as they come instead of worrying about wether something will go wrong or not. Not to meantion it has a catchy beat and awsome production that I can't get enough of. Sara produces a deserving single for her upcoming greatest hits album and shows what she can really do. Plain and simple, one of Sara's best songs yet and a great upbeat romantic song about letting go of your worries. LOVE IT!!!!

THIS IS MY LIFE= PHIL VASSAR - Another very personal song to me with Phil targeting the issues faced by everyday people from all extreames. Again I can't get enough of this song. Phil strays from his overdominant piano solos and combines a little piano in the lyrics with instrument combinations that only add to the masterpiece of the song. Along with that the song has a very personal feel to it that I'm sure will hit every listener that respects it with great power. In this day and age it is extreamly easy to be disrespected for ones position and place in society. This song shows respect and support for the everyman. I hope many people realize the significance and greatness of this song.

IF YOU'RE READING THIS= TIM MCGRAW - Without a dought this song earn my favorite of the month. Anyone who's anyone has heard this song from Tim's performance on the ACM Awards. Now an official release this song is one of Tim's best and one of the best I've heard in war songs sense 8th Of November. Tim delivers a powerful and emotional performance from the letter home of a troop who died in battle, giving the listener a first hand view of what its like to read and recieve a letter like that. The song is written in that persepective with the troop saying goodbye to those he loves in his family and friends. The most powerful line, "If You're Reading This, I'm Already Home", shows just how powerful a last letter home can be. This song is one of this years most powerful balleds. Hopefully radio will make it the hit it should be. There is so much that should and could be said about this song, but it would take me forever to explain it. With tough compatition, this song earns my favorite for the month.

So the first week of summer is full of drama and more drama.

The good news is I guess I've got a car now, a Chevy Malabu, and my mom's on everyones ass about paying for it. Of course she's doing it for my sake, but like every other parent in the world she considers is a bitch to obtain. I excpeted that...until she started bitching about insurance and my summer job and my scholarships and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. Yea I know this shit. My mom makes such a big deal out of everything. And you can say "she's only trying to make you a more responsible adult". Well as that may be, she could lay off a bit. I'm looking for a job, sry to her that I don't write like a fucking maniac and half ass everything on my job apps. And I would've loved to know that I needed to buy my own books. I don't mind but tell me where all my frigain money is going damnit. I'm getting a lap top and car. COOL...now tell me so i know what I need to do this summer. It's actually funny. I suppose thats a little poor communication on my part but yea my mom needs a chill pill and I need to take more charge in my scholarships so I know where she wan'ts them to go and how much I need to make. Its a partnership that seems to have a hard time getting along because she's overdramatic and I'm to easily irritated. Its hard to tell whos worse sometimes, lol.

Oh well. Now to go off and listen to Brad Paisley's new CD....why the hell does the real world have to be so damn annoying, lol.

~Hillbilly Bleau~

<lj:music>Free And Easy (Down The Road I Go)= Dierks Bentley</lj:music>

Well there has been so much preventing me from updating lately, so heres whats been going on in summary.

Prom was enjoyable. I actually got up and danced and I slow danced with April quite a few times. I got to dance with Becky too which was pretty cool because I hadn't done that sense 8th grade at the semi-formal. Of course when they announced they were playing country songs everyone boooood, but the DJ was cool and told them to shove it because it was his job to make EVERYONE happy. SO i got to show off doing the Cotten-Eyed Joe and even had the floor cleared to dance to Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy). They even played some Bon Jovi and other rock songs later that night. Basically they shifted away from solid rap which was awsome. I was a little irritated they never played Life Is A Highway. The sound guy recognized me from Relay Idol, whihc I got second place in...I don't think I ever posted that, so i got recognition for that.

Senior Slide ahow was boring. Half of it was all the senior trip to Maien and the other half were pictures of the most popular kids who were always around Hanna...so I was in like two. However the awards ceremony was great. I pulled off winning $3500 in scholarships and I got the awards for Outstanding Male Performance and Novice Performance in drama...AWSOME....HAHA EAT MY DUST COREY...lol.

Finals weren't as bad as I thought. I passed all of them including an A in Chem and English and not having to take History. So they weren't bad...however Algebra killed me with a C..blah.

And finally graduation. The practices were all...BORING...however I got to suck up once when we got cap and gowns while everyone was in the hall, I cleaned up the gym floor which impressed Fleming. The ceremony itself was awsome....however the major speech of the night was extreamly boring...the Valadictorian preaching about how he values his family...blahblahblahblahblah. I respect that but preach to them not us..ugh. Hannah and Corey had some pretty inspirational speeches though. I consider them the best writters and possibly the best speekers in the school. The ceremnoy went pretty fast other than that one speech and I actually got some good pics on my crappy camera. Afterwards we had a tear session meeting up with all our teachers and saying goodbye, including an emotional goodbye to Ms. Christian who played the biggest part in making me who i am throughout these past four years. Pictures...annoying, then April and I grabbed our deplomas and watched Jen swim in the courtyard lake...lol.

Oh and afterwards we had the senior mystery trip which sucked until the illusionist brightened up the night with hilarity and mystery. After that we had a carnival at the gym including a very intense dodgeball game and me falling on my ass and competing with April in blimp opstical course..lol. The cosmic bowling was also fun, but when the karaoke started I cared less for bowling and more for singing and bid a found farewell to the students who made me a star at heart signing 99.9% Sure and of course they went WILD.

So it really doesn't feel much different being a graduate. I thought it would be all mushy..but it really doesn't feel weird. I'm a little nervous to go to college, but I'm more nervous to get my licence. Well we'll see how things work out. SO goodbye Killingly High School and thanks for changing my life and giving me the best 4 years I've ever experienced. you know I'll be back soon to see how things are anyways.

~Hillbilly Bleau~

    <lj:music>This Is My Life= Phil Vasser</lj:music>

Well I havn't had a lot of time or patience to write on here lately. A few cool things have happened latley...and some not so cool.

Firs toff I attended the State FFA Convension last weekend and finally recived my State Degree along with a $250 check for my Porficiency Award win. I got to meet the national Reporter and actually get to see just how involved the state is with the organization. There is a shitload of students who participate in this stuff. It was a little depressing to see Killingly fall to so many other high strung teams like Woodbury, but I guess they deserved their wins as much as we deserved ours. Grandma actually took me and to tell the truth she scared the hell out of me. When we were driving down she was actually really "road ragish". She even passed in front of a truck doing a 3-pont turn and complained he was doing it in the road....that kinda where its supposed to be done isn't it. Anyways it was a pretty fun night after all.

Also Finals have begun. Its been a pain in the ass so far putting on what i saw as a poor performance for my Vocal Fundamentals Exam. Also Dodge's final paper was a pain in the ass as I had to write an 8-10 pg research paper on the evolution of a certain romantic theme from the Romantic period through the VIctorian and post-Victorian, and into the 20th Century using one poet and poem frome ach era to show this. I'm paranoid right now on how I actually did. In addition I was up till 4 in the morning finishing my History final on Wednesday..funfunfun. And Vo-Ag final was yesterday, oh joy. Of course that wasn't hard but it gave me the biggest sugarrush ever as afterwards when I had a coffee coolada and a chocolate party with brownies, icecream and chocolate milk :D After the exam we got our yearbooks which actually came out pretty good.

And now comes the event that has been the center of contriversy for the past month in my life, the Senior Prom. With everyone aware of my consideration of breaking up with April after the prom, they took it upon themselves to make it a big deal..but I won't get into that because thats to much dramam and it's overwith. Anyways the prom was fun. The DJ's were really into the croud and they had as much fun as we did. They did actually play some country music, Cotten-Eyed Joe (WHICH EVERYONE DID...semi CORRECTLY) and Save A Horse Ride A Cowboy which they screwed me out on as Winter Ball so I'm happy that was played. Sadly I think I annoyed them though constantly trying to get them to play Life Is A Highway which they never did of course. But the cool thing was it wasn't all rap crap. They actually played a lot of pop, slow, oldies and rock songs in the mix to. They kept everone happy and on the dance floor so it was cool.

Well thats all for now...yeah.

~hillbilly Bleau~

New Song Review May 2007

This month contain yet another long...long list. Actually its not that bad. There's planty of veterins making ther triumphant return, while others are trying to make their way into music stardom. Also this month is the first month this year where I have two favorites...for those new to my reviews I usually only pick one favorite, however on rare occasions I find it difficult to choose and narrow it to two instead. So heres this month's list guys. ENJOY!!!

MEN BUY THE DRINKS (GIRLS CALL THE SHOTS)= STEVE HOLY - Steve made it back with Brand New Girlfriend, sadly I think he may be what I call a two hit tumbler. He seems to have weird luck with a hit then no-one seems to care anymore. Maybe this will break his bad luck streak. I hope so because it speak the hilarious truth. Steve puts a comical spin on the natural male attraction to women and reveals the obvious fact that it is a women's worold and because thye have what we want all we do is buy the drinks and take orders.

I WILL NEVER LEAVE YOU= JIMMY WAYNE - I don't get it. People have been begging for his return and when he does he has seemingly poor success. We'll see if this one overshoots the flop of That's All I'll Ever Need. The song, as its title sudjests, is a love song of course ensuring the loved one that you will never leave. It's a great, unique sound and I hope it helps Jimmy back into his prime. He's fresh onto Big Machine records so hopefully the labels new reputation will convince radio to actually play the song.

NEW HOMETOWN= SARA EVANS - Well, I'm happy. With Missing Missouri off the chart, she releases as single to xm that last month I wished she would have made official. The song will probably never hit the charts but it's good enough for me that xm plays it anough, actually they overplay it whihc is also fine by me. ANyways the song is about the singer telling her husband that they need their own land and to settle in a new hometown leaving the big city for a more peaceful and romantic scenery. A #1 in my book, even if it doiesn't qualify to hit my chart.

ONE OF THE BOYS= GRETCHEN WILSON - I'd say Gretchen needs to up her game. She's three albums into her career and she's still shooting out the rebel songs. Ironically it wasn't un til she swayed from these same songs with I Don't Feel Like Loving You Today that he chart success took a tumble. This song combines both of those. Her rebel feel and her softer, meaningful side. One complaint is the "woo, ho, hoo's" in the song. They arn't needed and take the glory out of what could have been a great Gretchen song. i think these songs are where she belongs, I can picture this on a greatest hits right next to All Jacked Up, Homewrecker and Redneck Woean. Sadly her success doesn't seem to be going that far lately...hopefully radio will actually start playing her new music more now.

LETS TRY GOODBYE= AMY DALLEY - What can I say accept I feel bad for her. She releases countless great songs and her label refuses to give the album a chance. In typical statistics even if she released a CD, there's been so much of her music now it would be a flop. Radio doesn't play her enough so why even try. Give her a powerful, meaningful, inspirational, non-love or breakup song and role with it. She deserves the chance so why the hell not just release the album already. Algain a really good song, but radio doesn;t give a damn for whatever stupid reason.

YOU NEVER TAKE ME DANCING= TRAVIS TRITT - Fresh off his upcoming album produced by American Idol judge Randy Jackson, promises to be a good one. The song reveals Travis's more rock side, an upbeat louder feel on a powerful topic of rejection by the one you love. Travis is famous for his rocky chart success and CD releases, but this one seems to be a good one for him. it fits him well and took me by surprise because the name is misleading as to what you get from it. That makes for a pretty good production for me.

I'LL STAND BY YOU= CARRIE UNDERWOOD - A remake, which Carrie is no stranger to doing, of an old classic romance song. However, the song has a new feel to it here. Carrie gives the song a more emotional feel inspired by her performance of it on the Idol show this past season in tribute to those in South Africa suffering from peverty, death and disease. You can here it in her voice as well, as talented as she is. The song is not only for a loved one, but for everyone to represent the fact that the listener always has someone to turn to for help, who will stand by them forever. It's risky for it as a single because its a remake, but Carrie needs no pitty to make it a hit.

SUNDAY MORNING IN AMERICA= KEITH ANDERSON - One of his best songs. Keith is one of the coolest artists out right now in my opinion and he know a good song twhen he heres it. Like What I Love About Sunday from Craig Morgan, the song gives the love and happiness associated with Sunday mornings in the American town. However it much more upbeat and focuses more on the fun than the solid peace and inspiration of the day. Its a classic in my book and I hope it does good because Keith deserves the success and the song deserves to be heard. Its a great weekend song and the focus on an artist's favorite day seems to be the big thing in a lot of today's songs.

FREE AND EASY (DOWN THE ROAD I GO)= DIERKS BENTLEY - Recently Dierks has made a big fan out of me. He introduces a cool variety and unique twist to his songs. Long Trip Alone had a romantic twist, but could also be seen a gospel. This song has the same type of twist. it's a road song that sounds like its just there for fun, but listen to it carefully and its more a song about living life to the fullest and enjoying the ride. Dierk is a poet in his songs for sure. Not to mention the son is catchy and has a great beat to it. Despite this its not my first choice off the album, but its a great song non the less.

BECAUSE OF YOU= REBA MCENTIRE AND KELLY CLARKSON - I am happy as hell to see Clarkson on the country charts, however I am disapointed that Reba has chosen to use remakes on her duet album. I was hoping for new material. Despite this it is a great country version of Kelly's pop music hit. It's attracted a lot of attension so far and I'm sure the rest of Reba's new album will be just a good, but I hope some will be new material instead of all remakes otherwise it would spoil the point of performing with the artists. I think putting a twist to country songs is better than the other way around. Anyways my complaint about this song is that Kelly sang it with much more emotion, however thats just how Reba sings. He oice isnt' a loud and out there as CLarksons. Despite this fact I think Kelly's version was much better. it's not much of a duet song, but I love to here it on country radio and I love hearing Reba and Kelly together.

EVERYDAY AMERICA= SUGARLAND - Another great song by the country duo. It's actually a creative twist to a country song music wise and vocally it really shows what jennifer can do with her range. The song is pure magic and has actually become one of my favorites from the duo. The song targets the lives of random chartacters and shows the changes, dreams and lives of people in everyday America, a little town with a great big life. Behind the simplicity of a town or city are hundereds and thousands of dreams, families and lives that people cherish. I love the song because it reveals that behind the curtain of simplicity are so many unsung heros and great people. I think the country needs the optimism in this song in todays world.

A SOLDIER'S PRAYER= COLLIN RAYE - I havn't actually heard the song, but I've read good reviews on it. Collin has always had a great way of expressing powerful songs such as this. The song is of course a war song based on a sildier in the midst of war. Sadly, COllin's attempt at returning to the country scene has not gone so well in recent years. A powerful song like this may bring him back...or it may backfire. Due to the powerful content, songs such as this may be getting old, boring and un-needed for the listening public. However I could be wrong and I hope I am.

THE ONE IN THE MIDDLE= SARAH JOHNS - I wasn't sure what I would think of this song. I thought it would be another small time singer's poor attempt at making it big with a breakup or love song. I was partially right, but mostly wrong. The title is a play on of words used to describe her reaction to her boyfriend. She claims to have offered him the ring finger and instead goes for the one right next to it after descovering who he really is. THe only thing that spoils this song is the background vocals and even they can be very catchy. This girl has a flawless voice and knows what she wants in a song. I think its songs like this that can really put an artist on the map. A good first try at getting into the spotlight.

LOST= FAITH HILL - Returning to her pop-country roots, Faith earns one of the two spots on my favorites list this month. The song caught me on the ACM's immediatly and never let go. Its actually a really creative, really powerful look as desperacy for someone else's love. The singer is speaking to the one she loves either directly or indirectly trying to say that if being lost is what it takes to remain in his arms and to never no what it feels to not have him in her life then thats the way she wants to be. The concept of holding on to a love that probably won't work out is a strong one and its hard to express that same concept in a way where its not to cleche. I think Faith did just that. He voice isn't overdone and the performance is great. It's deffinatly a great hit for her and I'm glad to hear her return back to her older roots and straighter hair for a song or two.

NOTHIN' LIKE THE SUMMER= CARMEN RASMUSEN - And we come to my other favortie song, and my favorite of the two actually. The former American Idol Season Two top 6 finalist has finally made it into the light of the country radio. This girl is young and it took her four years, but she's finally been given the chance to show off her awsome, mature, talented vocal in probably one of the coolest and most effective songs I've ever heard. The song not only focuses on the summers of today, but of yesterday and everytime I hear it it gives me goosebumps. The greatness of the season comes in so many ways from relationships to something as simple as kids playing or lemonade in the sun. Sadly however I'm afraid that being on Loften Creek records and having Kenny take most of the summer based songs the odds are stacked against Carmen. I'll be crossing my fingers hoping she makes it. if not she will be the first American Idol contestant ever to make it and fail at it. There is no excuse for radio to pass up such a popular, talented, beautiful young lady or one of my favortie songs of the month. She deserves as much radio play if not more as Faith Hill's Lost will and has gotten.

Why I Love Country Music ~As Told By Jeff Foxworthy At The CMT Music Awards~

"I started thinking about why I like country music and doing this show so much, and here's what I came up with, y'all.

"I like country music because it's about the things in life that really matter. It ain't about braggin' about how you're gonna mess somebody up, or how somebody ain't respectin' ya. It's about love, family, friends -- with a few beers, a cheap woman and a two-timin' man thrown in for spice. It doesn't take political sides, even with things as ugly as war. Instead, it celebrates the brave men and women who go to fight 'em, the price they pay to do it and the longin' we have for them to return home to the ones that they love.

"It's about kids and how there ain't nothin' like 'em. I get tired of hearin' about how bad kids are today, because there are a lot of great kids out there that just need somebody to love 'em and believe in 'em. Country folks love their kids and they will jack you up if you try to mess with 'em!

"People in country music don't forget the people that allow them to do what they do for a livin'. They sign autographs and they take pictures with the fans because they know without 'em most of us entertainers would be gettin' a lot dirtier in the course of our workday. We are thankful that people want to hear the songs and the jokes that we write. Country music doesn't have to be politically correct. We sing about God because we believe in Him. We are not trying to offend anybody, but the evidence that we have seen of Him in our small little lives trumps your opinion about whether or not He exists.

"We love country music because it touches us where we live. It's about mommas, and when they were hot, and when they are unappreciated, and when they were dyin'. It's about daddies and the difficulties they have sometimes at tellin' the people that they work so hard to protect and provide for how they feel about 'em.

"Country music is about new love and it's about old love. It's about gettin' drunk and gettin' sober. It's about leavin' and it's about comin' home. It's real music sung by real people for real people, the people that make up the backbone of this country. You can call us rednecks if you want. We're not offended, 'cause we know what we're all about. We get up and go to work, we get up and go to church, and we get up and go to war when necessary.

"All we ask for is a few songs to carry us along the way, and that's why I love this show, because it ain't some self-important Hollywood hype with the winners determined by somebody else. On this show, you decide who goes home with a trophy and you get to dance and sing along with the people that bring you the songs of your life." ~Jeff Foxworthy

Well with the end of the year getting ever closer I am trying my hardest...well actually I'm suffering from Senioritous big time.

The English AP test is tomarrow and although i don't need to pass it for the UConn credit, I would love to pass in order to prove to myself and Mr. Dodge just how much I can do. I am good at the essays and the multiple choice isn't to difficult, but still I'm nervous despite the lack of preasure I should have.

On top of that I need to get my ass in gear in ALgebra and Chemistry and I need to finish WW2 for History. Oh and Vet Tech is next Wednesday, I just had to recruit a new member due to diffculties so yea that was fun. I've been training them hard and I'm a little worried I've neglected my own training on the subject. Things are so crazy right now its hard to keep track of what i need to do and what I want to do.

Oh and Kelly Leite got me for Rent-A-Senior so my worst nightmare is about to come true. I will be dressed as a gangster singing rap all day long (with an added bonus of no country lingo around my queen for a day). It should be interesting.

SO thats about all going on in my lovely life, lol. Until next time..

~Hillbilly Bleau~

Well with my radiostation's ending of Battle Of The New Songs I have had to find other methods of finding new songs on the scene. In the process I have come across many songs that I have not heard yet or that I didn't even know were released. So heres this month's list, enjoy.

DIRTY GIRL= TERRI CLARK - I meant to review this song last month, but actually forgot to put it on the list. I'm so happy to see Terri back on the scene with a new label and one of her most autobiographical songs ever. This song not only matches her personality, but is probably an anthem for many redneck girls not to shy of a more romantic "Redneck Woman". Personally I enjoy it and its a creative play on of the sexy "dirty" lingo talking about a girl who is not only sexy, but is also willing to get down and dirty, literally, from working on cars to playing in the mud.

THAT SCARES ME= VAN ZANT - I'm happy to see them with a sophomore country release on the way, however this song doesn't impress me as much as I'd hoped. Basically its the classic song about a man who is tough as can be when it comes to the scariest things but ironically the things that scare him the most are such things as his daughter growing older. It's a decent song, but I'm not sure how much it will do for the southern rock brothers. I'll be keeping my eyes and ears open to see how they do with this one.

HOW LONG?= LUCY ANGEL - She's got a real roughneck personality in her voice. It fits the song perfectly, however I don't think she'll ever be a big singer. I may be wrong. Anyways the songs pretty good, basically saying "How long do I have to wait for you". I enjoy the fact that shes come to a more rebelious tone to the song instead of the classic emotional, slow feel these songs usually have. Despite its lack of radioplay and popularity its a decient song, catchy and with a great voice behind it.

CRYIN' DAYS = MEAGAN MULLINS - This girl has so much talent..but not enough exposure. She's had more exposure to an audience as the fiddle player in the Nashville Star Band than on radio with her songs. She's a very multitalented singer. SHe delivers another great song, however I don't trhink it will fair anywhere close to Ain't What It Used To Be, which didn't do to well to start. I think both Meagan and Sarah Buxton are targets of a lack of interest from radio station as Jeff Bates was because the people seem to enjoy their music so much more than they are given credit for.

LITTLE RED BALLOON= KRISTINA CORNELL - The latest singer off of Loften Creek Records, the origin of Heartland. Although the record label has an ear for the talented, I think they need a huge song to match I Loved Her First to bring the label to the top. I hope this song is the one. This song is one of the most powerful songs I've heard this year, and from a new artist she pulls it off with the personal emotion it usually takes a great deal of experience to pull off. The song is written about a women or girl who has lost her father and trys to use a red balloon to reach him in the heavens. When i first heard the song I literally almost cried. I'm very, very scared for how this song will do but I look forward to the album, set for release on June 1st. It's a deserving breakthrough hit for Kristina and her record label.

HOW I FEEL= MARTINA MCBRIDE - I love the album, and I love the song. It's not the best song on the CD, but its one of the coolest. The only flaw is the fact that the chorus is mostly "How I Feel" repeated over again. The rest of the song isflawless. A fast paced romantic song where the singer is talking to their loved one saying that their world is in its happiest place when they are together, they feel like they do in so many of the world most beatiful moments inclusing "when you wake up laughing", the CD's namesake. Martina, as always, pulls it off greatly and proves once again that she is a talented songwritter and a singer who has rightfully taken the role as the leadin country female along side Carrie Underwood, very good company to be in.

FALL= CLAY WALKER - I'm surprised, but plaed, to see Clay back on the scene successfully. This song is the title track of his freshly released top 5 album and shows a much more poweful side than 'Fore She Was Mama. The song is slightly romantic, but is more a supportive and even friend based song than a love song. A slow, country version of Lean On Me basically. The singer is telling a loved one to fall apart and lose all their tears on their shoulder because they are always their to support them and help them back up. I wasn't sure how much I would actually enjoy it, but it turns out to be one of my favortites so far this year. As Clay described the song he stated that men usually have so much more difficulty letting go than women so the song, although universal in its own way, is mostly targeted towards that fact. I actually agree with that concept 100%.

GOOD TO BE BACK= SIXWIRE - Another country party song, however its not to catchy. The songs easy to dance to and it's an interesting piece of work, however its seems to be a poor attempt at copying the attempts of Jason Aldean and Dierks Bentley, releasing a fast paced party song as a breakthrough hit. The song does, however, take an interesting topic into concideration, returning from failure or even success. The singers are asically returning to a bar they've spent years playing as either from the top or the bottom of the business and besically its party time. Despite the fact that its a decent dance tune, I am not very impressed with it.

WHAT YOU GIVE AWAY= VINCE GILL AND SHERYL CROW - When I first heard this song on one of the award shows it blew me away. Vince has done it again with the second major release from his 4 CD collection, These Days and has produced one of the most personal songs to me that i have ever heard. The song states that no matter what you do and gain in life, its what you give away that will actually matter in the end. I think the entire nation needs to hear, enjoy and relate to this song. It expresses a topic that this country has been struggling with for a while, lack of generosity and the power of greed, while bringing in religious meaning as well by refering to how its only what you give, not what you take that will pay off when its all said and done. Probably one of the BEST songs I've ever heard. I'm, very disapointed that it is not doing to well right now. It deserves every bit of attention as anything Carrie Underwood of Toby Keith has ever released.

BETTER PLACES THAN THIS= TRACY BYRD - Isn't it interesting how simple things can produce the worst memories from your past. Although Tracy is not very big right now, his songs deserve to be. This song addresses a man who is kicked out by his room mate and relates it to being kicked out of a better place than that, his girlfriend or wifes home and explains he knows what to do from there having experienced it before...he goes to drink of course. With a new label Tracy seems to have found songs that are so much better suited for him. Sadly he just can't seem to make the magic happen anymore. Hopefully I get to hear more of this song, but if I don't I can always say its one of the most creative songs I've heard all year, as are many other songs on the Album.

JUST ANOTHER NEON NIGHT= BROOKS AND DUNN - So much better than Hillbilly Deluxe, in my opinion, although it was a decent song. XM Radio has been playing the hell out of this song and although it doesn't seem like the song will be released as an official chart singel, I hope it does. The song is a redneck party song, but its lacking the hard core rock sound of Hillbilly Deluxe or the couthern rock sound of Play Something Country, also a great song. This song is much more enjoyable and has a smooth sound to it for a night on the country. Hopefully the song becomes a radio singel, but if it doesn't it should become a popular hit on XM.

ROCK AND A SOFT PLACE= TRACY LAWRENCE - Another song from XM. Not sure if it is Tracy's follow up to FId Out WHo Your Friends Are, but its actually a very decient song about making a decision between love or hate after a breakup. The man in the song comes back into the woman's life and after reviewing the memories and her love for him she becomes caught between doing the right thing in taking him back or sticking to the heartache. Its enjoyable and unique to the radio today and Tracy has surprisingly made it back to popularity as an artist. I really think this should continue as a single from XM to national radio play because its unique and enjoyable and i think a lot of people going through the situations of the characters in the song need to hear the message. It could save a lot of relationships if taken by the proper croud.

FRIDAY NIGHT FIRESIDE= STEPHEN CACHRAN - And we have another party song, but this ones actually really decent. Its another anthem of the redneck way of life glorifying the enjoyment people have near a fire on a friday night. The guys got a solid voice and delivery, but the subject may be either to cleche or to copycat for radio right now. Its deffinatly a summer song as people begin to endulge in their outdoor activities a lot more. Although i think this song won't do much for his career, i am hopeful that i hear it more and that it becomes a hit. I'll have to wait and see what happens. Nevertheless, a decent song for this time of the year.

SHE AIN'T RIGHT= LEE BRICE - Another song with the annoying repatition in its chorus. However it is also a very, very good song. THis song is supportive of a mans loved one as he examines her way of life in relation to the proper and sophisticated steriotype of women in the world. He explains how his girl is a rough rider and a true blue tomboy and rebel type of girl. He even goes so far to say that when God made her he knew she wasn't perfect, yet he knows that God still smiled. Although the girl he loves may not see "right", she's just right for him. I love the concept of the song which in many ways supports the rebellious, fun loving woman and their individuality while supporting the love and connection the man in the songs feels for a woman other see as different and wrong in her ways. This song is actually a very awsome love song, but still the repeating chorus of "She ain't right" is really annoying.

LAST GOOD TIME= FLYNVILLE TRAIN - A new, hard rocking country group with the sound similar to that of Van Zant and the harder and faster paced songs of Heartland. I actually love the song and the fact that its a fast paced party anthem about such a touchy topic these days is pretty cool. Basically its saying to party like its the last time you can. All seriousness aside its sure to get many people on the dance floor trying to have an awsome time while the oppertunity is at hand. The video matches the song perfectly in that both are catchy, attractive and cool. I can't wait to see if this group makes it and although i love the song, the group itself still needs to put a little more inot their career to impress me as a permanant and dedicated fan.

DAISY= HALFWAY TO HAZARD - The first group to come off of Tim McGraw's label as an associate. The group has impressed me so far through their vocals and the song is pretty good too. Its about the singers love named Daisy who for one reason or another loved him back. He finds it hard to understand why she loved the hell out of him, but he knows how much she did to try to help him and show her love and dedication for him. The song follows their journey of love from childhood, to her "first kiss", to marriage and pregnancy. Finally the song ends explaining that she died and that even in death, he knows she still loves him. I've been so excited to hear from the first artist/group that spawns from Tim's label and all though their record deal is only in [artnership, this song proves that Tim knows what he's doing.

ANOTHER SIDE OF YOU= JOE NICHOLS - Joe always has some awsome songs up his sleeve. This one is no exception and its a sign that he will be releasing his fourth album. One thing at a time. The song is a unique, upbeat love song where the man literally sees another side of his love when she works hard to get things done around the house juggling so many things and he wonders how she gets it done. WIth mothers day coming up this song is perfect for the loving husband. It's a perfect song for the man who wants to let his love know how much he appreciates her and everything she does in her everyday life for him and her family.

I NEED YOU= TIM MCGRAW AND FAITH HILL - And so we come to one of the most romantic songs I have ever heard. Tim and Faith of course make a flawless duo, but they pull off one of my favorites from Tim's album with flawless sincerity and emotion that shows the connection between the two singers as well as successfully expressing the love the listeners are meant to feel when relating to it. Relatively simple, the song talks in the perspective of the two lovers telling each other how much they need each other and what they would like to do and how much they mean to each other. The performance is flawless, not over done and has a romantic, peaceful feel to it unlike many songs of today. I think this song, expecially the chorus which shows just how much they need each other, defines the true love felt between the singers and the couples who will more than likely make this their song.

MEASURE OF A MAN= JACK INGRAM - For some reason i can't get enough of this song. I heard it on the CD, then on the radio and I just can't stop listening to it. its a real catchy, upbeat song that goes back to the vocal delivery I enjoyed in Wherever You Are and the song should be just as successful. The song talks about how what a man does defines him and how his approach to life and others defines who he is as a man. It starts talking about the issues with his father and how going on his own as a man defined him. Then it addresses the man falling in love with a woman and how the love of his life defines him as a man. Finally upon the birth of his child the ultimate act, forgiving his dad no matter what it takes, is the final defining factor in his life that is the measure of a man. The concept of this song is powerful and entertaining all at once and I think its Jacks best work yet.

I TOLD YOU SO= KEITH URBAN - And now my favorite song in this long list of new songs this month. I hope you didn't get to bored waiting on this. Well I have to say "I told you so". I guessed that this song would follow Stupid Boy as the third single and I am overjoyed that I was correct. Keith has released one of the coolest intrumental, vocal and entertaining songs I have ever heard. Not only is the instrumental performance flawless and unique, the vocla performance is unmatched and shows the power of the song. And then we get to the topic of the song. The singer is addressing a woman who has come back to him because she knows they are better together. He makes a packed with her that if she doesn't say that shes sorry and he won't say "I Told You So". I can't get enough of the song and It's always been a favorite of mine from the album. THe instrumentals is like nothing I've ever heard before which makes this probably one of my favorite songs, even more than Ticks. I hope this song becomes the latest #1 from Keith, one of the best male artists of any genre and the writer and singer of possibly one of the collest song I've ever heard.

Mock Accident...as told by the Bulletin

Killingly High students see results of fatal 'accident'
By DON BOND
For the Norwich Bulletin

KILLINGLY -- A grim scene greeted Killingly High School upperclassmen when they went outside the school Wednesday morning.

Two cars filled with students had collided on Westfield Avenue.

One girl lay dead on the road beside the wreckage. A boy lay sprawled across the hood of the other car, fatally injured when he was ejected on impact through the windshield. Three other teens were injured and trapped in the wreckage of the two cars.

As the students gathered, they were greeted with the sound of a frantic call to the 911 dispatch center, as an hysterical girl reported the accident to emergency dispatchers.

Within minutes, the street was filled with fire trucks, ambulances and state police cruisers.

Emergency medical technicians and ambulance personnel immediately began the task of caring for the victims, while other firefighters began using power equipment to cut away a door and the roof of one of the cars to extricate the injured.

The bodies of the two teens killed in the crash were placed gently on the side of the road and covered with yellow tarpaulins until a funeral home arrived and they were placed in body bags and taken away in hearses.

As the final, and most seriously injured, survivor was gently lifted from the wreckage, a medical helicopter landed behind the school, and the girl was placed into the chopper to be airlifted to a trauma center.

Fortunately for all involved, the accident was not real.

It was a mock scenario designed to forcefully show students the dangers they face by driving and drinking alcohol or riding with someone who has been drinking.

"With the prom season fast approaching -- the Junior Prom is on Friday -- we want to send a strong message to the students about the dangers of drinking and driving," said Peter Gerardi, School Resource Officer and organizer of the event. "This mock accident also gives us an opportunity to reinforce the lessons about always using seat belts and driving within the posted speed limits."

Every 2 years

Gerardi said this was the fifth mock drunken driving accident the school has conducted in the last decade.

"We do one every two years for the members of the junior and senior classes," he said. "We try to make it as realistic as possible to give the clear message that students should make responsible choices. We point out that the choices these youngsters make can affect their lives, as well as those of their family and friends, for the rest of their lives."

Student Corey Smith portrayed the drunken driver who caused the accident. He was uninjured, but was taken into custody and led away in handcuffs by Trooper Michael Picard after failing a roadside sobriety test.

Each of the "dead" and "injured" students represented a portion of the message authorities hoped to deliver.

Taylor Dube, who rode with the drunken driver, was thrown from the car and died.

Jason Bleau didn't wear a seat belt and died after he was thrown through the windshield.

Hanna Mack, the other driver, and one of her passengers, Erica Malito, failed to wear seat belts and were seriously hurt.

Roshani Vanmali used her seat belt and escaped with only minor injuries.

"This is a good lesson to have before the prom," said Gail Hart, 17, a junior, who plans to attend the prom Friday. "It's scary what can happen if you drink and drive."

Her sentiments were echoed by fellow junior Shawna Young, 16, of Rogers.

"It shows anything can happen at any moment," said Young, who has a driver's permit. "It's a good idea to have this before the prom as a reminder to be careful."

Ron Given of Route 12, Killingly, stopped by to watch the exercise.

"My daughter was one of the actors in the last mock disaster," he said.

"This is a good program. It brings awareness, and if it saves just one person's life, it's worth whatever it costs to put it on."

Gerardi said students watched a skit prior to the mock accident and then gathered for an assembly to discuss the scenario afterward.

<table style="BORDER-RIGHT: #999999 1px solid; <lj:music>Make A Wish (Coming Home Again)= Jack Ingram</lj:music>

The title really has nothin to do with the entry, I just like the name of Jack Ingram's song.

Well here's whats been up lately.

First I've finally hit the road. Mandy has offered to help me with driving and thus far I've accumulated a little over 3 hours of draving time in total with family. Mandy's car is much easier than the truck, but I'm hoping it will get me less afraid of the size because a truck is what i want. Anyways it's fun because its vaca week so i actually had the time to get things done, man I needed this. I had a few faults including stopping in the middle of an empty intersection and almost backing off their wall practicing a 3-pt-turn.

I've also ben slacking on my English stuff. I've got about half of Jane Eyre's stuff done and I have yet to do everything else. Vet Tech and music has been the center of my attnetion this week preparing for compatitiona dn just being me.

Also I'm nearing my college decision. As of next Monday or Tuesday i will know what I'm doing. Then the complications start, lol.

Other than that nothing much. Nobody ever comments on these things anymore, lol, as if I said anything to comment about. I've been reviewing my past entries just to look back on the good times. I've had this journal two years already and man has it been fun. Heres to many hopeful more.

~cowboy Bleau~

    <lj:music>Nothin' To Die For=Tim McGraw</lj:music>

Well i'm bored to hell, lol.

It's vacation and so far it sucks, but never will i complain. Anyways I made it all the way through lent without buying a country CD :) However I wasted no time in catching up with my collection as of Monday. I ran out and bought both Tim McGraw's Let It Go and Nashville Star winner Angela Hacker's CD. on top of that i may have my mom bringing back Martina McBride's Wake Up Laughing from Florida and Bucky Covington's comes out tuesday with the CMT music awards on Monday. Come to think of it...this week will be pretty exciting.

Derek got DVD copies of the plays we did and production was a little crappy, but what should be expect. It was cool to hear my own evil voice and my drawl and twang from the three different plays. It took us a few times to get through them because we had to keep rewinding to hear some things and re-view some things we loved. They were pretty good over all. Makes me wish we could do it all again.

Oh and Easter was fun too. Got a sip of my first real beer, wasnt to pleasent, but I tried a few others just to see what the taste was. I ended up giving the can to my mom to finish without barely another real sip, but I thought it was kinda neat. It was like a ride of passage saying this is what you can have in a few years, lol. The night was full of a lot of candy and food and a huge fire. Cody, Cory, Mandy, Derek and I spent a lot of time stricking rocks with a golf club to see the spark, distance and shrapnal, lol. We actually ended up breaking one of the clubs. Near the end of the night tried to tackle Cody and he backhanded me by accident splitting my lip...and to this day i have a sore their, it better go a way cause it hurts like shit.

Other than that everythings pretty good. I'm rough and ready for next week and hoping that things will look up. For now I gotta go finish the laudry for my moms return tomarrow....then i wanna fool around on the compuiter more, havn't been on in a while...like three days, lol.

~cowboy Bleau~

    <lj:music>Livin' Our Love Song= Jason Michael Caroll</lj:music>

Last night was amaizing. I had singed up to perform both as a singer and actor in the first Killingly Bible Club Youth Conference at the school auditorium. It's the first time both of my passions have been in the same program for me.

Anyways, I was psyched. As always I wore Pepe's Knights Of Columbus ring for my performance and my Cowboy getup. I sang "Help Poor Out The Rain" by Buddy Jewell and it went over well. Everyone loved it, although I admit it was a litle pitchy.

The night continued up to Derek and I doing a skit called the Invitation all by our ones-e-savey. Actually, to my extreame surprise, it went over better than my song did as far as compliments.

The real power of the night came from the end of the porgram when the precher got up and asked all of us to cme up on our own will (not to look around) but to come up with no admiration or recognition of friends etc. I led the way for the younger group there and stood in from of Danny (a fellow High Schooler who got me into this thing) and we went through a powerful process of confession. Although the confession was not what made me cry, it was looking at Pepe's ring that did. I knew he was there and it was really a deep and powerful experience. I talked to the preacher/priest afterwards and he did a private prayer for me when I told him about the history of Pepe's ring. It was powerful and inspiring and although I was a little depressed about the reaction from my singing performance it was all worth it.

~cowboy bleau~

New Songs Review March 2007

Ok, this is gonna be long. This month was packed to the top with new songs, many you will probably never hear and many that may get annoying, but I was so excited to review each one. Hope you guys enjoy it.

LIVING IN THE HERE AND NOW= DARRYL WORLEY - Weak song. I mean the moral is good, live life the simple way and live in the now not the then or when, but the performance is really weak. I loved the song and Darryl is an awsome artist, but he's a little to soft and peaceful with this. I think a pick-up in tempo and maybe a more energetic sound to it would make it much more likable, but thats just me. Either way its a pretty good song, just a little boring to listen to.

FLAT ON THE FLOOR= KATRINA ELAM - I havn't really heard the song, but lyrically its one of the most crative songs from this month's releases. THe singer is flat on the floor because she can't be put down any lower and it waiting for the storm to blow by, which represents the apparent mishap with her lost love who she refers to in the song. It seems really good and I look forward to hearing it, sadly I think Katrina will never be big enough to make a great song like this a hit because radio won't play her for some reason.

HOUSE LIKE THAT= DONAVAN CHAPMAN - A slam to materialism, this song is super catchy and really really fun to sing along too. Not to mention it has a meaning of inspiration unique to todays world. He says that he doesn't need a big mansion, although he knows he wants one, to find love, all he needs is a simple house, a house filled with love and joy, "where love wears out our welcome mat". Inspiring to me especially because of its tribute to the simplicity of family love and love in general.

TOUGH= CRAIG MORGAN - Absolutely flawless. Anyone could have really overdone this reomantic balled, but Craig pulls it off with grace and emotion only a true singer could express. The lyrics feature a man explaining how he once thought he was tough, but looking at all the things his loved one has gone through from housework and supporting the family to even cancer he realizes that the woman he loves is tougher than he'll ever be. I think it'll be one, if not his biggest, hit.

GOT A GOOD DAY= CAROLYN DAWN JOHNSON - This depresses me. She stared off great with her comback on Equity, but radio rejected her the proper attention. Now she seems to have become desperate. It's not a bad song, but it sounds more like a filler you would hear on her album. I don't think its really that good of a single plain and simple, but for the sake of her success I hope, but strongly dought, it does well. You never really know. All the luck to ya Carolyn.

THE AMERICANS= JOHN MELLENCAMP - Ok, decent song, but come on John, show us something new. I'm tired of the same old American pride songs all the time. John's got it made as a rock legend, but I think he needs to make a stronger approach at society and shows some variaty in his songs if he want to expload ontot the country seen. However I am interested to see if his popluarity as a legend or radios lack of support for the song will come into play, and which will decide its fate on the charts.

MISSING MISSOURI= SARA EVANS - I guess this is just a teaser singel, cause its not doing to well, but what does it matter. I'm just happy to see Sra uneffected by her mishap on Dancing With The Stars. Its a decent song, not my favorite by her, but decent. I personally hope New Hometown will be her eventual actual next release, but we'll see what happens.

LETS GET DIRTY= HEARTLAND - As I predicted Heratland has pretty much become a one hit wonder with I Loved Her First. Although Built To Last is running strong on my chart, radio has rejected it making it unchartable on Billboard. I was disapointed to see that song fall and I'm sad to see this one go too. This song shows more of their wild side and expresses their roots and inspirations from southern rock with a beat. Its a rough neck song as many of their songs are on the CD, but I hope they can score a major record deal and make their way back into the ears of the listening public because these guys are great.

GOOD KIND OF CRAZY= AMY DALLEY - I feel bad for her because she contantly releases pretty good songs, but still no CD. Whats up with that? Shes had over 5 singles and still no album released. I miss hearing her classics like I WOuld Cry and Men Don't Change. Sadly I believe this singel will be a flop like her others, but I hope I'm wrong. She needs the attentiona dn deserves it so much. I hope she gets her chance and people get the exposures to her songs and talent.

100% COWBOY= JASON MEADOWS - Whats with all the Jason's lately, lol. ANyways I like it, but I'm a little insulted by it although he has the right to insult me. The song is as it says about being 100% cowboy and not being a poser who thinks he can pull off the image. Its hard rockin and really catchy, although I think the likes of Jason Aldean and Keith Anderson ahve covered those bases. It is a little insulting to me becuase I can be considered a poser, but I see where he's coming from and respect it. It takes more than a cowboy hat and a guitar to make you a true blue cowboy.

LIVING OUR LOVE SONG= JASON MICHAEL CARROLL - This guy's got the talent man. I love his CD and his voice and he's a nice guy from what I've heard of him. This song is a switch from ALyssa Lies to a more "You're Still The One" feel, but upbeat this lime. Its about time someone made an upbeat toon about long lasting love even through the hard times and I really hope this will keep Jason in the spotlight. He's got the talented and the spark, now all he needs to do is keep his audience which I really think this song will helpe him do.

THESE ARE MY PEOPLE= RODNEY ATKINS - Why do I love this guys music, cause its never the same. All his songs have been upbeat and optimistic and he's earned his place as a new artist great. This song talks about small town pride and it a definate classic for those like me who take pride in who they have spent their lives with and where they came from. I know this song will do awsome and I predict Rodney will make it three for three with #1's. If he keep releasing the variaty he is I'm sure he will stay on the right track, although I wouldn't mind a sappy song the next time around. I'd like to see how he would pull one off like he did Honesty.

GOD DON'T MAKE MISTAKES= JAMIE O'NEAL - Pure talent! Glad to see her back with her booming and inspirationla tone to her voice. Jamie has a solid single here which I think will go over very well with her new and onld fans. The topic is nothing new, but still just as fresh. No matter what hard times you are enduring remember that God make no mistakes and that everything has a purpose. I hope this song goes over well for Jamie, it's inspirationl and its catchy so I'm sure it will.

WRAPPED= GEORGE STRAIT - What can I say, I'm a newly referibished Strait fan. This guys finally back to his original country style and he actually sounds like he's releasing songs for the love again. Wrapped is of course a remake of an oldy as well, but its not as boring as Seashores Of Old Mexico was. George pulls it off nicely and has the voice to show the optomism and love in this midrange song. Its not to fast, but not to sappy, it's just right. Of course it will be a hit, but can it make it to #1 like mane of other Strait greats. I hope so.

JUST MIGHT HAVE HER RADIO ON= TRENT TOMLINSON - I was disapointed when Sugarland didn't release Tennessee, but now comes a much softer song about the same thing, asking a DJ to play a song to bring his gilr back and hoping she hears his message. I actually like Trent's softer side then his rough neck side. This song has become an instant favorite of mine from him and actually surprised me when I heard how well he did on it. Hopefully this song will further his success as the highest selling new male of 2006.

I GOT MORE= COLE DEGGS AND THE LONESOME - The song sounded so familier and then I realized I'd never heard it before and it really caught my attention. WHen I heard the name of the gorup I thought they would be a flop, but now I really hear the talent in these guys. ALthough I openly admit the name is corny. I really dislike the whole lead singer then band thing. However thats not what I'm judging, its song quality and this song is great. The singer is telling a woman he's more than the snobs she dates will ever be and he will show her the true love they won't. I hope they do good because they really are talented.

ILLEGALS= CLEDUS T. JUDD - Because I havn't heard the song I have yet to figure if it is actually a parody or an original. However I do know that Cledus sticks to his comedic singing by slamming down on the topic of illigal imigration and showing sympothy and support towards those who feel thay have been robbed of their jobs by them. ALthough I am not big on the debate, I do think that this song will go over well. It probably won't be a hit, but I think it strikes a topic very unique to what many songs today are on. I can't wait to hear it and probably laugh my head off at the comical lyrics that I hope are in it. He's not the best singer, but he knows how to draw support.

I WANNA FEEL SOMETHING= TRACE ADKINS - I first thought this would be a song about love, but its not completely. The song it actually one of the best I've heard this month. It starts off with the guy talking about his same old rutein and he wants to feel something new. Then he talkes about how he wants to feel as he did in a young love, then he addresses his love and shows how he wants to feel something new, her love for him, as well. Its actually one fo his best off of Dangerous Man and its a switch from Swing anf Ladies Love Country Boys. I think a change of pace for Trace is a good thing. He's beginning the show variety in his songs and also his powerful side that he hasn't shown sense Arligton a while back.

FAMOUS IN A SMALL TOWN= MIRANDA LAMBERT- Crazy-Ex Girlfriend was a flop, but many say it wasn't the official release. I hope they were right. This is my favorite Miranda song, and I think it shows how much she really has grown sense her Nashville Star days. The song is reallt close to me because it talks about how everone dies famous for one reason or another in a small town. Its an awsome small town pride song and I think a lot of people can relate to it. I really hope it brings her back into the spotlight and helps her score her first top 10 hit on the charts. I'm afraid the loss of Crazy-Ex Girlfriend will dramatically effect the faith radio has in her songs.

(YOU WANT TO) MAKE A MEMORY= BON JOVI - I was hopeing Bon Jovi would come back to the country seen after Who Says You Can't Go Home topped the charts and I got my wish. It was a hard chocie for my favorite song, but sadly this one came in second this month. It's actually one of my favorties that I've heard this year. The singer is with an old friend, his ex, and looking back on old memories and asking her if she would like to make another one to add to ther collection because where else does she have to be anyways. I think this song will be a huge hit for them and help them secure a place among the greats. The fans have takin well to it and I know it will make a lot of memories for a lot of people in this world.

TICKS= BRAD PAISLEY - And so the long, long list ends with a huge, huge hit that is my favorite song of the month, and the year thus far. I was amaized when I heard the name and even more amaized when I heard the song. The guitar caught my ears, the name did, the possible lines Brad could have crossed, just everything came to mind when this song started and by the end I was hooked to the chorus. Thesong is a faced paced, fun time love song about a guy asking his girl if she wants to get away to the fields and mess around and he can "check her for ticks" cause "the only thing aloud to crawl all over her is him". The song sticks to Brad's sense of humer that anyone who has seen him knows is huge and over expressive which makes this song perfect. Many people see this song as really insulting and uncalled for, and that's what makes it so grand. It is rebelious, it's fun, its funny, its catchy, its different, its romantic, its downright perfect. I can't wait to get the CD. Although I am disapointed a few songs were not released from Time Well Waisted, this song makes up for all of them and more.

K, I don't have a lot of time so I'll make this quick.

For one why the hell do people have issues with me lately. By a string of fate I have recently descovered that several people have been bashing country music and me behind my back either because of my music or my hat, or other stupid reasons. "He think's he's so cool" , "Country music and Britaney Spears are the worst msuci you could like", "You used to like country-yea but that was when I didn't know better"!

WHAT THE HELL!!!! And they've been bashing my religion in much less destructive ways. I really hate poeple so much!! At least people like them. What the hell is wrong with my hat, with me, with my music. They have no right to bash me or my lifestyle, they don't know me and I don't ever want them to!!!! I can't wait to show them all on stage that if you wanna insult me you gotta climb into my Hillbilly SHoes and take a look at things from my point of view. Only then should they ever frigain bash me or my music. IT PISSES ME OFF!!

To add to the anger my CHemistry teacher is an ASS!!! He gave me a 58 on a test flunking me for a 20 pt. question noting on my test this: "This isn't social studies. You can't fake the answers." How dare he bash my abilities. Sure I ot the answer wrong but he has no frigain right to bash it like that and glorify his subject. IT DISGUSTS ME AND PISSES ME OFF!!!

LISTORTI'S AN ASS AND PEOPLE WON'T BACK OFF!!! WHAT A BEAUTIFUL WEEK!!!!!

Well now that I'm done with my mindless ranting of anger thats all I have for the moment. Hopefully people do back off and Listorti gets fired, or at least backs off himself. Ugh!!!!

~hillbilly Bleau~
